Welcome

Lost and Found Shipmates Looking at the Guest Book gave me the idea of devoting a page to those of you who were crew members. It is also for those who are not ex-Cardigan Bay crew but knew someone who served on her and have lost contact. The Guest Book does a good job but I thought it could be even better if anyone looking for an old pal/shipmate were to email me with as much information as possible about the person they are trying to find and I will show it on this page. To assist in finding lost shipmates, please supply as much information about them as you can e.g full name, occupation e.g, able seaman, gunner, asdic operator, radar, telegraphist, signalman etc and the dates he was on board, in fact anything you can think of that will help. As for a contact address, it is our policy not to divulge the contact details of our Association members unless we have their express permission so if you wish to place an advertisement to try and find an old shipmate/pal please send your request to me. Likewise, anyone trying to make contact in response to a plea for help should send an email to the address above and I will arrange for your response to be forwarded to the correct person. |

Comments: Did the last commission and was my first draft, by far and
away the best time I had in the Andrew. Had more runs on the Bay than
I had in 15 years in Subs. Did more days under pun than the rest of
my 27 years in the Navy. The Lordships in their wisdom decided that
a 17 year old with hormones coming out of his ears should be in bed
by 22.30! NOT A CHANCE! Thanks to all those QM's that risked life and
limb to take my station card out of the box.I was feeling good about
all these good memories when I remembered the cheese ush. Sorry chef.
Cheers everybody.
ps in the poo again, I got the security code wrong.

Comments: Hi I just want to say that my mother and father, Norman &
Irene Dunnett who were in Hong Kong in 1960 had some very good friends
from the Cardigan Bay. I remember some of them coming to our flat in
Lai Chi Kok and bringing the film South Pacific which was screened on
our living room wall!!Great site.
My name is Paul White and i have just found the site for lost and found seamen on HMS Cardigan Bay and in particular the last entry with the photographs. The photograph of the man on his own under the palm tree is my father, Hilton (Knocker) White who was also the ships barber. Sadly he passed away 10years ago but my mother and i would like to hear from anyone who remembers him. I can be contacted on this e.mail address and look forward to hearing from someone who knew him. Many thanks Paul
(If anyone knew Knocker White (Shown Above) please let me know and I will put you in touch with Paul.) enquiries@hmscardiganbayassociation.co.uk
